Ms. Klein has been tutoring our daughter and we've seen immediate growth, motivation, and excitement about reading since she started working with Ms. Klein. Ms. Klein's enthusiasm while working with her is obvious and this carries over to our daughter's enthusiasm to do the work at home. Our daughter is excited to show us how she can read a new book independently and feel successful while doing it after she has worked with Ms. Klein. She also brings home a variety of activities to practice skills at home that always have clear directions and examples for us to efficiently help her. Ms. Klein consistently communicates with us through a journal, progress reports, and email. This allows us to have in-depth knowledge about what she is doing in her sessions with Ms. Klein as well as provides feedback about our daughter's skills, growth, and areas to continue to develop. We are grateful for the personalized attention Ms. Klein gives our daughter and thrilled with the progress, individualized lessons and assessments, and communication that Ms. Klein provides. Coach Jaika is amazing with the kids! She truly cares about the kids and their success and they love her too! My daughter's writing skills and handwriting improved tremendously in just one semester. Jaika Klein is more than a tutor; she is a professional educator who takes a sincere and deep interest in the overall well being of her pupils. Jaika has been working for almost three years with our 4th grade daughter. The academic improvement that M. has made over the past 12 months is marked. M.'s improvement in the essential skills of math, reading and writing has greatly augmented the instruction that she receives in school and has enabled her to excel beyond most of her peer group.
Jaika takes tutoring very seriously, as evidenced by her preparation and lesson follow-up. Jaika sends detailed feedback after every single session. She includes the whole "learning team" in her feedback: M's fourth grade teacher, others at her elementary school, and us as the parents. Jaika has taken her own personal time to arrange in-person meetings with M's teachers, to make sure that she is focusing on the right areas for development [in her tutoring sessions with M.].
Moreover, Jaika makes learning fun for elementary school-aged children! She arrives with interesting materials that keep M. interested. We often hear our daughter and Jaika downstairs chuckling to themselves while they work. M.looks forward to seeing Jaika every week, which is quite unexpected since it involves tutoring and learning!
Finally, and equally important, Jaika loves her students and takes a personal interest in them. Jaika sometimes goes to M's dance shows, and other extracurricular events. She truly cares about her students, and we love her for it.
